A Feature Documentary

The 100TH is a feature-length documentary that involves the production of a large Map-Building event, traveling production through Italy and France to retrace the campaign(s) of the 100th and post production including sound design, animation, fx, editing, closed captions and subtitles.

Budget: $500,000

  • $10,000 Pre-Production: brand, website, donation system setup.
  • $90,000 Hawaiʻi Production: 30 local interviews & Map-Building Event.
  • $200,000 Europe Production: 5 weeks full crew in Italy & France.
  • $100,000 Post-Production: Sound design, editing, titles, animation, fx, color,
  • $25,000 Footage Rights: licensing of clips and images.
  • $50,000 Promotions/Marketing: Social media, PR, SWAG, travel omiyage, film festivals.
  • $25,000 Distribution Fees: Legal/fair use, Trademark search, E&O insurance, sales agent, distributor fees.

 

 

Budget Notes

Produced by a 501C3 Nonprofit

As a nonprofit production, support by donors and sponsors is eligible for tax deduction status. While we do not render tax advice, we do recommend supporters consult their tax professionals to ensure tax compliance.

All property rights related to the production are held by ID8 as a 501(C)(3) and not by any individuals including ID8ʻs officers, Board Directors and/or staff.

Nonprofit Donations Only -- No Equity

This production is a nonprofit program, thus no equity or ownership is offered for donations or sponsorships whether monetary or in-kind.

Contributions by Filmmaker Steve Sue

This film is largely the work of producer Steve Sue, who takes zero monetary compensation for his efforts as producer, writer, production designer and talent. His intent is to avoid any potential conflicts of interest. His contributions are NOT reflected in the Budget so that the cash position of the production is maintained as the primary focus.

In-Kind Contributions

ID8 reserves the right to accept or reject in-kind product and service contributions.

Crew Living Wages

This production seeks to pay living wages to film professionals participating in the production. As a nonprofit, ID8 also seeks to offer internships and growth opportunities to aspiring professionals, for example, in past productions, ID8 has hired many students and recent graduates from the University of Hawaiʻi.

The 100TH, Seeds of Aloha is part of Project Shaka, a nonprofit trilogy of educational films on the Aloha Spirit.
