Map Day: June 7

Honor WWII 100th/442nd Soldiers

Supporters of WWII 100th Battalion and 442nd RCT are invited to participate in a film shoot at Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, Hangar 79 on Saturday, June 7, 2025, 9AM–5PM.

Supporters will place soldier medallions on a 6,000sf map of Italy & France, a key visual in the upcoming film. Interviews capturing stories of Aloha and heroism will also be recorded throughout the day. Supporters are encouraged to bring memorabilia and documents to share in interviews.

Film Location: Note that by appearing at the location, you agree to possibly be included in the film. If you do not wish to be recorded, make sure to avoid cameras or donʻt attend.

MEDALLION PLACING & INTERVIEWS

Soldier medallions may be placed at a location of descendantʻs choice ( such as place of Aloha story, furtherest point reached, place of heroism, etc.). Placements are grouped by time slots in order of campaigns with concurrent interviews.

9-11am GROUP 1: Salerno, Benevento, Monte Cassino, San Michele, Anzio, Lanuvio, Civitavecchia.
11am-1pm GROUP 2: Belvedere, Sassetta, Cecina, Castellina Marittima, Hill 140 “Little Cassino”, Arno River.
1-3pm GROUP 3: Marseille, Bruyères, Biffontaine, Vosges, “Lost Battalion,” St. Die, Stag III.
3-5pm GROUP 4: Maritime Alps, French Riviera, Livorno (Leghorn), Georgia Hill, Ohio 1, 2 & 3, Ortonovo, Mt. Folgorito, Aulla.

The Plan

This is a big shot in a big location: The historic Hangar 79 at Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum bears scars from the Dec 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. A walkable 5,000sf floor map will be installed with a 78ʻ wide backdrop wall beyond.
