HELLO WORLD! Weʻre stoked to launch this website for the production of THE 100TH, Seeds of Aloha, a feature-length documentary by nonprofit ID8, that is the second film in a trilogy of Aloha Spirit films, the first being the award-winning documentary, Shaka, A Story of Aloha.
The 100TH retraces the World War II footsteps of the 100th Infantry Battalion, aka “The Purple Heart Battalion,” as a modern-day journey through Italy and France to reveal the heroic story of Americans of Japanese Ancestry (“AJA”) soldiers from Hawai‘i who, despite facing prejudice and suspicion from their own country, fought to liberate Europe and built an enduring legacy of global service spanning over 80 years.
